Monday Results (May 30)

Lawrenceburg Speedway

After a weekend jammed pack with racing, only one track hosted sprints on Memorial Day and that was Lawrenceburg Speedway hosting the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series.

The field was made up of 34 drivers ranging from series regulars to NASCAR drivers revisiting their roots to regional stars.

In the end it was Shane Stewart out-dueling Rico Abreu for the win in front a big crowd on the Lawrenceburg high banks. With 15 laps to go Abreu was able to get to the rear of Stewart and for 10 laps the two traded the lead multiple times before Stewart was able to get out front and get away for the closing laps to seal his victory.

Abreu ended up third after David Gravel got around him for second as Kyle Larson and Daryn Pittman finished fourth and fifth respectively.

Home state driver Joey Saldana was the quick qualifier for the evening with a time of 12.185. He would finish 10th in the feature.

The World of Outlaws Craftsman sprint cars will be back in action in the Hoosier State on June 8 at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville.
