Friday Results (July 22)

Kokomo Speedway

Christopher Bell grabbed night #1 of the two-day Dirt Classic Indiana at Kokomo Speedway on Friday night.

Starting from the pole in all three races he took part in (heat, dash & feature), Bell dominated the evening winning all three and ended the night by taking home his first Indiana sprint car victory of the season.

Rico Abreu finished second after a battle for the position with Bryan Clauson ended with Clauson getting upside down while Jamie Veal charged from the sixth starting position to round out the podium.

The Dirt Classic continues tonight at Kokomo Speedway where the winner will collect $12,500.

Indiana Sprint Week Sunday Results (July 17)

Terre Haute Action Track

After getting rained out on Wednesday, sprints returned to Terre Haute on Sunday night to round out the 2016 edition of Indiana Sprint Week.

Chase Stockon was able to hold off Robert Ballou to pick up the win and Brady Bacon picked up the Indiana Sprint Week crown after yet another top five finish.

The USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Cars now take a short break before resuming their season in late July at Tri-City Speedway in Illinois.

Indiana Sprint Week Thursday Results (July 14)

Lincoln Park Speedway

In front of yet another huge Indiana Sprint Week crowd we were treated to our 4th different winner in as many rounds as Brady Short cruised to victory on Thursday night in Putnamville.

Short was able to get around Dave Darland to take the lead and never looked back winning in dominating fashion. Chase Stockon, who started on the front row, had a strong run and finished second while the #98 of Chad Boespflug rounded out the podium.

Defending USAC sprint car champion Robert Ballou finished 4th while Thomas Meseraull who was in a new ride tonight provided by Landon Simon Racing broke in his new ride with a top five finish.

Indiana Sprint Week continues tomorrow night on the red clay of Bloomington Speedway.

Robert Ballou used his front row starting spot to cruise to victory on Friday night in Putnamville on night #1 of the Bill Gardner Sprintacular. The defending series champion was able to get out in front of polesitter Chad Boespflug and lead all 30 laps for his 4th USAC victory of the year.

Chad Boespflug finished second while Brady Bacon rounded out the podium. Shane Cottle had a strong run from his twelfth starting position to finish fourth while Dave Darland completed the top five.

Chris Windom was the evenings hard charger finishing 11th after starting 22nd.

It has been a tight battle as far as points are concerned all year at Bloomington Speedway between Brady Short and Jeff Bland Jr. and tonight was no different. Brady Short raced his way to his 4th Bloomington win of the year while rival Jeff Bland Jr. finished second.

Tyler Thomas, coming off his first win last weekend at Lincoln Park Speedway rounded out the podium while Bub Cummings and Dakota Jackson completed the top five.

In the 305 RaceSaver class Dakota Jackson picked up his 3rd win in as many weekends.

Friday Results (June 24)

Bloomington Speedway

USAC is on the road but 20 non-wing sprint cars along with 15 305 RaceSaver sprints were still in attendance on the red clay of Bloomington Speedway on Friday night. The sprint feature tonight served as round one of the Jackslash.com Summer Series to be aired on MAVTV.

At the end of the night it was Kevin Thomas Jr. picking up the win, his 2nd at Bloomington this season. The Cullman, Alabama native was able to get around Jordan Kinser early in the race and ran away with the show after an early caution.

Jeff Bland Jr. got around Kinser late in the race to finish second while Kinser would hang on for third to round out the podium. The finish will help Bland Jr. in the points, entering the evening he trailed Brady Short by just 10 points in the track championship standings. Short finished fifth.

Bloomington will be back in action next Friday night for the final time before they welcome the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Cars for Indiana Sprint Week on July 15.

It was a very warm evening in Kokomo on Sunday night and the action on Indiana's Baddest Bullring, as always, reflected the weather.

After playing a high speed game of cat and mouse for much of the feature it was New Mexico driver Josh Hodges winning his first ever feature at Kokomo Speedway after overcoming Jerry Coons Jr. in the closing laps.

The two drivers started the feature on the front row with Jerry Coons Jr. jumping out front early. Throughout the feature Hodges closed on Coons Jr's tail tank multiple times before Coons Jr was able to stretch the lead back out while working lapped traffic.

However inside of five to go Hodges was finally able to make his way past for the win. Jerry Coons Jr. held on for second while Dave Darland rounded out the podium.

Saturday Results (June 18)

Paragon Speedway

When it comes to a track that is dry and slick, Brady Short is always competitive. Saturday night at Paragon was a Brady Short type of track as he dashed to victory in the 68 lap Amati Classic. Short was able to hold off multiple charges by Max McGhee to pick up a $3,000 pay check. The win, Short's fifth of the season, was his first of the season at Paragon.

McGhee was able to hang on for second while Chris Windom finished third. Jeff Bland Jr. who took a break from his usual duties at Lincoln Park Speedway on Saturday night, had a strong run in fourth while Josh Cunningham battled to a fifth place finish.

Lawrenceburg Speedway

CJ Leary pulled the Leary #30 out of the shed tonight and drove it into victory lane in the final sprint car race at Lawrenceburg Speedway before Indiana Sprint Week. The Greenfield, Indiana native drove to the win from his 6th starting position in the 25 lap feature event.

Shawn Westerfeld, who is chasing points with the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS), but began the night only 50 points behind track championship points leader Jarett Andretti was able to cut into that margin by finishing 2nd. Andretti finished 6th after starting on the pole.

Garrett Abrams rounded out the podium while Josh Hodges and Jordan Kinser would wrap up the top five for the evening.

Lincoln Park Speedway

Since Memorial Day, along with Bryan Clauson, Kevin Thomas Jr. has been the hottest sprint car driver in the state of Indiana, a trend that continued Saturday night in Putnamville.

Thomas Jr., driving the 4J Motorsports machine, was able to get past track championship points leader Shane Cockrum inside of five to go in order to pick up his 5th Indiana sprint car win of the season and 6th overall.

Cockrum, who led nearly the entire race after passing Chad Boespflug early on, was able to hang on for second in front of a charging AJ Hopkins who finished third after starting deep in the 20 car field in 14th. Cole Smith also put in a good run finishing 4th while Kyle Simon rounded out the top five coming from 15th.

Sprint cars will return to LPS next Saturday before kicking off a busy July with the Bill Gardner Sprintacular and Indiana Sprint Week events.

Bloomington Speedway

For the second weekend in a row the Neal Tire Midwest Open Wheel Association sprint cars were in action in the Hoosier State, this time on the red clay at Bloomington Speedway.

24 sprint cars made the call and many non-wing regulars such as Dakota Jackson, Casey Shuman, CJ Leary & Carson Short put the wing on to compete Friday evening.

At the end of the night Jerrod Hull was able to get past Hunter Schuerenberg after a late restart to continue his hot streak. Hull started the feature from the sixth position.

Schuerenberg was able to finish second while AJ Bruns rounded out the podium. Jake Blackhurst and Danny Smith rounded out the top five.

Lawrenceburg Speedway

Shawn Westerfeld used his pole position in the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) feature to his advantage on Saturday night in Lawrenceburg and took home the win on the high banks.

Westerfeld, who now has three victories at Lawrenceburg in 2016, went flag-to-flag and extended his points lead in the series. Garrett Abrams and Jarett Andretti rounded out the podium.

Joss Moffatt put in an impressive drive finishing sixth after transferring from the B-Main and starting 17th in the feature.

Chris Phillips became the first winner not named Jake Scott in 2016 on Saturday night at Paragon Speedway. As was the case with Westerfeld at Lawrenceburg, Phillips was able to use the top starting to his full potential and collect the big pay check.

Shane Cockrum charged from 10th place to capture the LPS Mid-Season Championship on Saturday night in Putnamville.

Cockrum was able to get by leader Jeff Bland Jr. with 10 laps remaining and get to the checkers first as Brent Beauchamp would finish second will Bland Jr. would salvage third.

The win was Cockrum's second of the year at Lincoln Park Speedway.

Jerrod Hull picked up his second consecutive Neal Tire Midwest Open Wheel Association win on Saturday night at Tri-State Speedway, his third overall in 2016.

Hull was followed across the finish line by Hunter Schuerenberg and Jim Moughan. Kody Kinser and Critter Malone rounded out the top five.

The Midwest Sprint Car Series (MSCS) also returned to action in Haubstadt on Saturday night.

Kyle Cummins, who was not able to make the trip east for the USAC Eastern Storm, picked up the win. Donny Bracket finished second while Brady Short took the final position on the podium finishing third.

World of Outlaws Results @ LPS (June 8)

Lincoln Park Speedway

Donny Schatz celebrated the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Cars return to Putnamville on Wednesday night by taking the checkers first in the feature and in doing so, taking the top spot in the points standings in the process.

Schatz was able to hold off David Gravel, who won Sunday at the last series event in Michigan, after a hard charging Kyle Larson flipped during the feature. Larson had been the quick qualifier in what would be a very long evening for race fans.

Daryn Pittman, Jason Sides and Jason Johnson rounded out the top five in the feature.

Wednesday night's event was the fourth and final appearance by the series in Indiana for 2016.

Kokomo Speedway

Kokomo Speedway hosted the final round of USAC Indiana Midget Week on Sunday evening and as always, non-wing sprint cars were also in action at Indiana's baddest bullring.

27 cars made the call Sunday and once again it was Bryan Clauson getting the win, his 5th in a sprint car in the last 7 days. Clauson built a big lead early and never relinquished the top spot lapping 3/4 of the field en route to the checkers.

Kevin Thomas Jr, who won the sprint car feature at Bloomington on Friday, continued his strong peformance this summer by finishing second. "Sunshine" Tyler Courtney rounded out the podium.

It is also worth noting that Rico Abreu won the USAC midget feature while Bryan Clauson collected his 3rd Indiana Midget Week title. A Keith Kunz Motorsports car won in each round of the week-long series with a different driver each time (Larson, Bayston, Thorson, Bell & Abreu).

Bloomington Speedway

Round four of Indiana Midget Week took drivers to the red clay of Bloomington Speedway on Friday night where 28 non-wing sprint cars made the trip.

For the first time this week someone was able to knock Bryan Clauson off the top step of the podium as Kevin Thomas Jr. used his P2 starting spot to his advantage to pick up his 5th win of the season in the 4J Motorsports machine.

Thomas Jr. was pursued by defending track champion Brady Short for much of the race before Jeff Bland Jr. was able to get by late in the 25 lap feature to finish second while Short would come home third.

Shane Cottle and Dave Darland rounded out the top five while Clauson finished 6th.

For the third straight night Bryan Clauson ran second in the USAC midget feature and for the third straight night Clauson followed up with a sprint car feature win.
