Kokomo Speedway

The Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions sprint cars return to Kokomo Speedway on Friday night in what will be the series only trip to Indiana in 2017.

Chad Kemenah leads the charge into Kokomo as the series points leader while Ryan Smith sits in second, 258 points behind. New Castle, Indiana'a Caleb Armstrong is third in the standings.

Christopher Bell and Rico Abreu picked up victories on back-to-back nights the last time ASCoC made an appearance at Indiana's Baddest Bullring in 2016.

D2 midgets will also be in action on Friday evening.

Lincoln Park Speedway

After being rained out last Friday night at Terre Haute, the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Cars are back at it this Friday night in Putnamville for night #1 of the Bill Gardner Sprintacular.

In the same event one year ago it was Robert Ballou leading all 30 laps of the feature en route to the victory followed by Chad Boespflug with Brady Bacon rounding out the podium.

The two day event will continue on Saturday night with the MSCS sprint cars. UMP modifieds, super stocks and bombers will be in action on both nights.

Like Terre Haute, Bloomington Speedway also rained out last Friday evening but will be back in action this weekend with non-wing sprint cars as well as 305 RaceSavers, the evening will be capped off with a fireworks show.

The American Modified Series as well as super stocks will also be racing alongside both classes of sprint cars.

Lincoln Park Speedway

The Bill Gardner Sprintacular continues on Saturday night when Lincoln Park Speedway hosts the MSCS sprint cars.

In the series' most recent event it was Brady Short picking up the victory at Brownstown Speedway with Tyler Courtney and Shane Cottle making up the rest of the podium.

Saturday will be the first of two events for the Midwest Sprint Car Series this weekend, the series will move onto Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt on Sunday.

Paragon Speedway

After taking last weekend off, the lights will be on once again at Paragon Speedway this Saturday night. The last time sprint cars were in action in Paragon was on June 17 when Shane Cottle won the 68 lap Amati Classic.

Super stocks, bombers and hornets will be in action alongside the non-wing sprints. There will also be a fireworks display.

HARF members will receive 50% off of general admission when they present their club IDs.

Baer Field Motorsports Park

The Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Sprint Series is scheduled to make its first of two trips to Fort Wayne in 2017 on Saturday night when the series takes on the half mile pavement oval at Baer Field Motorsports Park in the Summit City Sprint Car Shootout.

Saturday will be the first of three scheduled events for the series in the Hoosier State during the month of July with the series also taking on New Paris Speedway next weekend and then heading back to South Bend Motor Speedway later in the month.

There will also be compacts, stocks, modifieds and late models in action as well.

Sunday, July 2

Tri-State Speedway

The Midwest Sprint Car Series will cap off it's weekend double header on Sunday night when the series returns to Tri-State Speedway for the Sprint Stampede. Chase Stockon picked up the win by holding off Carson Short and Robert Ballou the last time the series visited Haubstadt on June 10.

The Midwest Open Wheel Association winged sprints will also be in action alongside the MSCS sprint cars on Sunday. It will be the second trip to the track for the series in 2017. Parker Price-Miller picked up the win when MOWA visited the track in May.

Jim Moughan currently leads the MOWA points standings while Brad Loyet (-11) and AJ Bruns (-12) sit close behind in second and third.

Rounding out the action at TSS on Sunday will be UMP modifieds.

Monday, July 3

Kokomo Speedway

Indiana's Baddest Bullring welcomes non-wing sprint cars back on Monday night in what will be the final sprint car event before we kick off the 2017 edition of Indiana Sprint Week next Friday night in Gas City.

Justin Grant currently leads the track points standings while defending track champion Kevin Thomas Jr. sits just 12 points behind Grant in second. Shane Cottle is third.

Like many other tracks around the state this weekend, Kokomo will have a fireworks display on Monday evening. Modifieds and hornets will also be racing.

Weekend Preview: May 12-14

Friday, May 12

Bloomington Speedway

The Midwest Open Wheel Association (MOWA) Sprint Car Series is slated to make its first trip into Indiana in 2017 this weekend when the series takes on the red clay of Bloomington Speedway on Friday night.

The MOWA sprints will be the only sprint action in Bloomington this weekend as both the non-wing sprints as well as the 305 RaceSaver class have the weekend off.

Entering the weekend, Brad Loyet has a 24 point advantage in the points over Paul Nienhiser who sits second in the standings while Jimmy Moughan sits 30 points back of Loyet. However, Loyet is not expected to compete in Indiana this weekend.

Modifieds as well as super stocks will join the MOWA sprint cars on Friday night.

Chandler Motor Speedway

Chandler Motor Speedway will host a rare non-wing sprint car event on Friday night which turns out to be the only non-wing event in Indiana that night. The event will feature an open tire rule.

The sprints will be joined by the Ohio Valley Lightning Sprints as well as UMP modifieds, street stocks, pure stocks and mini stocks.

Saturday, May 13

Tri-State Speedway

Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt will host two straight nights of action this weekend and the action kicks off Saturday when the track hosts both the MSCS non-wing sprint cars as well as the MOWA winged sprints.

This will be the second trip to TSS for the Midwest Sprint Car Series in 2017 after co-sanctioning an event with USAC in April in which Chris Windom picked up the victory.

Entering the weekend, Jarett Andretti leads the MSCS points while both Brady and Carson Short sit tied just two points behind Andretti. Max McGhee and Dakota Jackson round out the top five in points.

Meanwhile, the Midwest Open Wheel Association will make its first of two trips to Haubstadt in 2017. The series made multiple trips to TSS last year with Jerrod Hull and Hunter Schuerenberg picking up victories.

Paragon Speedway

Paragon Speedway is slated to kick off their 2017 campaign on Saturday night when they host non-wing sprint cars as well as super stocks, pure stocks, bombers and hornets.

Josh Cunningham collected another track title in 2016 after a season long battle with Andrew Prather and Jake Scott which saw Cunningham win the crown by just five points.

Lincoln Park Speedway

It will be business as usual in Putnamville on Saturday night as Lincoln Park Speedway hosts it's weekly program. Non-wing sprint cars will be in action as well as modifieds, super stocks, bombers and the MMSA mini sprints.

The last time the track was in action, way back on April 22, it was Cullman, Alabama's Kevin Thomas Jr. picking up the win.

For the third consecutive weekend, Lawrenceburg Speedway will try to host their King of the Midwest sprint car event paying $2500 to the winner after rain has forced the track to the postpone the event the past two weekends.

The event will also serve as race three of the Indiana Sprint Car Series which will be aired on MAVTV on a later date.

UMP modifeds, pure stocks and hornets will also be in action.

Sunday, May 14

Tri-State Speedway

Hoosiers will get one more chance to see sprints in action on Sunday when the Craftsman World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series is in action in Haubstadt.

It will be the third race in three nights for the Outlaws after having completed a double header at Eldora Speedway in Ohio the previous two nights.

Entering the weekend, Donny Schatz holds a 60 point lead over David Gravel in the points with Brad Sweet sitting third in the standings, 92 points behind Schatz.

Schatz has scored eight victories on the season, the most in the series, winning his seventh and eighth last weekend. David Gravel has the second most victories with five and picked up the victory the last time the Outlaws visited Haubstadt back in 2016.

The MMSA mini sprints will join the Outlaws.

Independence Day Weekend Preview (July 1-3)

Friday, July 1

Lincoln Park Speedway

The USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Cars return to Indiana on Friday night, after their recent swing through the states of Minnesota, Nebraska and Kansas, to take part in the 2nd Annual Bill Gardner Sprintacular at LPS.

Friday nights event will be the final appearance by the USAC sprint cars prior to kicking off Indiana Sprint Week on July 8 at Gas City I-69 Speedway.

Entering the weekend Brady Bacon leads the USAC points standings by 59 points over Thomas Meseraull, the series' most recent winner. Chase Stockon sits 140 points back in third place.

UMP modifieds, super stocks and hornets will also take to the track Friday night.

Kevin Thomas Jr. won in dominating fashion last Friday evening while the rest of the field raced furiously behind him.

Behind a strong second place run last Friday, Jeff Bland Jr. only sits 3 points behind current track points leader Brady Short. A points battle that will more than likely continue on Friday night.

305 RaceSavers, UMP modifieds and super stocks will also take to the red clay of Bloomington Speedway on Friday evening.

LPS will have sprints for the second consecutive night on Saturday when the Midwest Sprint Car Series (MSCS) sprint cars take to the track for night two of the Bill Gardner Sprintacular.

Entering Saturday, Brandon Morin leads the MSCS point standings by 19 points over Carson and Brady Short who are tied for second. Dakota Jackson and Tyler Hewitt are also within striking distance sitting just 30 and 31 points back of the series leader.

As was the case on Friday night, UMP modifieds, super stocks and bombers will join the sprint cars.

Sprint cars return to 'Indiana's Baddest Bullring' on Sunday for the final time before Indiana Sprint Week begins.

Bryan Clauson and Kevin Thomas Jr. have been dominant at Kokomo Speedway in 2016 but in the most recent race at the track on June 19 it was New Mexico's Josh Hodges picking up the victory after edging veteran driver Jerry Coons Jr.

Along with UMP modifieds, hornets and thunder cars, fans will be treated to a fireworks show on Sunday evening.

Bloomington Speedway

For the second weekend in a row the Neal Tire Midwest Open Wheel Association sprint cars were in action in the Hoosier State, this time on the red clay at Bloomington Speedway.

24 sprint cars made the call and many non-wing regulars such as Dakota Jackson, Casey Shuman, CJ Leary & Carson Short put the wing on to compete Friday evening.

At the end of the night Jerrod Hull was able to get past Hunter Schuerenberg after a late restart to continue his hot streak. Hull started the feature from the sixth position.

Schuerenberg was able to finish second while AJ Bruns rounded out the podium. Jake Blackhurst and Danny Smith rounded out the top five.

After having last weekend off, sprint cars, of the winged variety, will be in action on the red clay of Bloomington Speedway this Friday night.

For their second weekend in row the Neal Tire Midwest Open Wheel Association (MOWA) sprint cars will take to the track in Indiana. Jerrod Hull won the series' most recent event last Saturday night at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, the win was his third of the year.

With MOWA visiting the track this weekend the non-wing sprints will have the week off but will return to action the following Friday.

Headlining non-wing sprint car action on Saturday night is the 7th Annual Chuck Amati Classic at Paragon Speedway where the winner will pick up $3000.

The track has attracted very healthy car counts in three events this year and more are expected to take part in the 68 lap event this weekend.

Chris Phillips won last weeks feature after defending track champion Jake Scott had won the first two events of 2016 in Paragon.

It will also be half price night for all HARF members.

Shawn Westerfeld is the most recent winner, having won last Saturday night when the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) visited the speedway.

Jarett Andretti currently leads the track championship points standings by 50 over Westerfeld while Joss Moffatt trails Andretti by 55 points.

It's zip code night at the track. Anyone who presents ID showing they are from zip code 47025, the same zip code as the track, will be admitted for free.

Shawn Westerfeld used his pole position in the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) feature to his advantage on Saturday night in Lawrenceburg and took home the win on the high banks.

Westerfeld, who now has three victories at Lawrenceburg in 2016, went flag-to-flag and extended his points lead in the series. Garrett Abrams and Jarett Andretti rounded out the podium.

Joss Moffatt put in an impressive drive finishing sixth after transferring from the B-Main and starting 17th in the feature.

Paragon Speedway

Chris Phillips became the first winner not named Jake Scott in 2016 on Saturday night at Paragon Speedway. As was the case with Westerfeld at Lawrenceburg, Phillips was able to use the top starting to his full potential and collect the big pay check.

Shane Cockrum charged from 10th place to capture the LPS Mid-Season Championship on Saturday night in Putnamville.

Cockrum was able to get by leader Jeff Bland Jr. with 10 laps remaining and get to the checkers first as Brent Beauchamp would finish second will Bland Jr. would salvage third.

The win was Cockrum's second of the year at Lincoln Park Speedway.

Tri-State Speedway

Jerrod Hull picked up his second consecutive Neal Tire Midwest Open Wheel Association win on Saturday night at Tri-State Speedway, his third overall in 2016.

Hull was followed across the finish line by Hunter Schuerenberg and Jim Moughan. Kody Kinser and Critter Malone rounded out the top five.

The Midwest Sprint Car Series (MSCS) also returned to action in Haubstadt on Saturday night.

Kyle Cummins, who was not able to make the trip east for the USAC Eastern Storm, picked up the win. Donny Bracket finished second while Brady Short took the final position on the podium finishing third.
