Weekend Preview (June 17-19)

Friday, June 17

Bloomington Speedway

After having last weekend off, sprint cars, of the winged variety, will be in action on the red clay of Bloomington Speedway this Friday night.

For their second weekend in row the Neal Tire Midwest Open Wheel Association (MOWA) sprint cars will take to the track in Indiana. Jerrod Hull won the series' most recent event last Saturday night at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, the win was his third of the year.

With MOWA visiting the track this weekend the non-wing sprints will have the week off but will return to action the following Friday.

Saturday, June 18

Paragon Speedway

Headlining non-wing sprint car action on Saturday night is the 7th Annual Chuck Amati Classic at Paragon Speedway where the winner will pick up $3000.

The track has attracted very healthy car counts in three events this year and more are expected to take part in the 68 lap event this weekend.

Chris Phillips won last weeks feature after defending track champion Jake Scott had won the first two events of 2016 in Paragon.

It will also be half price night for all HARF members.

Lawrenceburg Speedway

The Kelsey Chevrolet Sprint Cars are back in action yet again on Saturday night on the high banks of Lawrenceburg Speedway.

Shawn Westerfeld is the most recent winner, having won last Saturday night when the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) visited the speedway.

Jarett Andretti currently leads the track championship points standings by 50 over Westerfeld while Joss Moffatt trails Andretti by 55 points.

It's zip code night at the track. Anyone who presents ID showing they are from zip code 47025, the same zip code as the track, will be admitted for free.

Lincoln Park Speedway

After hosting the sprint car Mid-Season Championhip last weekend it is now the UMP modifieds turn this Saturday night in Putnamville.

However, sprint cars will be in action as well, along with super stocks and bombers.

Shane Cockrum won last Saturday night at LPS after charging from the 10th starting spot in the feature.

Sunday, June 19

Kokomo Speedway

Sprint cars are back at Kokomo on Sunday night as part of the track's "Hornet Hustle" event. The sprints and hornets will be joined by thunder cars and street stocks as well at 'Indiana's Baddest Bullring'.

Bryan Clauson was triumphant in the most recent sprint car action at Kokomo back on June 5 as part of USAC Indiana Midget Week.

Kevin Thomas Jr. currently leads the track points standings by six over Jerry Coons Jr. and 11 over Travis Hery. Chris Windom, Bryan Clauson, Chad Boespflug and Jarett Andretti all sit 12 points back of the top spot.
