Anderson Speedway
Late race drama led to exciting conclusion to the 68th running of the Pay Less Little 500 on Saturday night in Anderson.
The Hoffman #69 driven by Kody Swanson made contact with polesitter Caleb Armstrong but was able to get around and hold off Dave Steele and Jerry Coons Jr. en route to his first Little 500 victory.
Armstrong dominated the race early from the pole before relinquishing the lead in the second half of the race when Bobby Santos III led a number of laps before making his final pit stop late giving the lead back to Armstrong and setting up the final battle for the lead late in the race.
Swanson, Steele and Coons Jr. were the only cars to complete the full race distance while Kyle Hamilton finished fourth one lap behind the leaders and Bobby Santos III rounded out the top five, two laps behind the leaders.
The win for Swanson was the third by a Swanson in as many nights as he and his brother swept the two USAC events that took place on Thursday and Friday.
