Bryan Clauson became the first sprint car winner in Indiana as well as the first repeat winner in the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car Series on Friday night by beating the rest of the field to the checkers on the red clay of Bloomington Speedway.
Clauson, who started 11th rode the rim and was able to get around Broken Arrow, Oklahoma's Brady Bacon in the second half of the race to pick up the W in his 39th race of the season in his chase for 200 races in 2016.
Bacon was able to salvage second as Thomas Meseraull rounded out the podium. Chase Stockon and Robert Ballou rounded out the top five.
With his third place finish "T-Mez" Thomas Meseraull extended his series point lead to 16 points over Chase Stockon who moved into second in the standings with his 4th place finish. USAC will be back in action on Saturday night in Haubstadt at Tri-State Speedway.
CJ Leary was the fast qualifier setting a new track record with a time of 10.842.
Also in sprint action on Friday night at Bloomington, Ethan Fleetwood picked up the 305 Racesaver victory.
