Weekend Preview (April 15-16)

Friday, April 15

Bloomington Speedway

With Mother Nature washing out the opener last Friday night, Bloomington will open up their 2016 campaign this Friday when they host the United States Auto Club National Sprint Cars. "T-Mez" Thomas Meseraull enters Friday evening's event as the USAC points leader by 1 point over Kyle Cummins. Chase Stockon, Justin Grant and Dave Darland round out the top five.

Also on the sprint docket for Friday, the 305 Racesavers will take to red the clay for their first appearance in 2016. They will be joined on the undercard by the MMSA non-wings.

Saturday, April 16

Tri-State Speedway

Tri-State Speedway kicks off its season on Saturday night when it hosts not one, but two non-wing sprint car series with the USAC/MSCS Spring Showdown. Brady Bacon won the event in 2015.

Also in action on Saturday night in Haubstadt, UMP modifieds.

Lincoln Park Speedway

With last weekend's washout, LPS will get it's season rolling this Saturday with Bill Gardner's Indiana Open Wheel Racin' Fest which was rescheduled from last week. The MSCS was scheduled to take part in the event but will be at TSS on Saturday evening. The skies over Putnamville will also be lit up by fireworks on Saturday evening. Scott Hampton is the reigning track champion.

Also in action at LPS Saturday night: UMP modifieds, super stocks and bombers.

Lawrenceburg Speedway

Lawrenceburg was another track that fell victim to the weather last weekend so they will reload and try again on Saturday night. Dave Darland won the season opener at the Burg with USAC on April 2. Joss Moffatt is the defending track champion.

The Kelsey Chevrolet sprints will be joined by UMP modifieds, stocks and hornets.
