On the slate this week is four exciting nights of racing at the legendary Kokomo Speedway in what has become one, if not thee largest non-wing sprint car event in the country. Here is a closer look at what is going on this week.

Sunday, August 21
The Kokomo Speedway campgrounds open to fans and teams. Please use the designated areas.
Tuesday, August 23
Load-in day for race teams.
Wednesday night pit passes and 3-day Smackdown tickets available from 7-8 pm at Kokomo Speedway ticket office.
Wednesday, August 24
Racing opens up with a special event on Wednesday evening when Kokomo Speedway will host Bryan Clauson's Celebration of Life.
A group has also come together to create the #GYATK Challenge in honor of Clauson. The highest finishing driver making his first ever start at Kokomo will pick up $1,000 on top of what they earn from the purse that evening while the second highest finisher will collect an additional $500. The third highest will pick up a new right rear.
As more fans donate the purse for the evenings event will also increase. The hard charger for the evening's feature event will grab $630.
As an incentive to get more cars and drivers into the pits, Allstar Performance has graciously paid for every drivers pit pass for the evening.
No points towards the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car Championship will be awarded on Wednesday evening.

Thursday, August 25
Thursday serves at Qualifying Night #1 of the Sprint Car Smackdown V.
Entering Thursday's action it is the 2014 USAC sprint car champion Brady Bacon who holds the series points lead over defending champion Robert Ballou. Chase Stockon sits third in the standings followed by Thomas Meseraull and Dave Darland.
Thursday will be the first of two qualifying nights. Together, the nights will determine points locking in the top eight drivers into Saturday night's feature while the others will be split into qualifying heat races on Saturday. A full breakdown of the format can be found in the guide.
Robert Ballou picked up the win on the first qualifying night in 2015. Hornets will join the sprint cars for the evening.

Friday, August 26
Friday is Qualifying Night #2. Paired with Thursday night after the conclusion of the racing for evening we will have locked in eight drivers to Saturday's finale.
Chase Stockon won the Friday portion of the Sprint Car Smackdown IV in 2015. Thunder cars will also be in action with the USAC sprint cars.

Saturday, August 27
Saturday serves at Championship Night for the fifth edition of the Sprint Car Smackdown. Dave Darland is the defending champion of the event having won the event the last three times after the late Bryan Clauson won the inaugural event.
UMRA TQs will serve as the support class on Saturday night.
