Weekend Preview (August 12-14)

Friday, August 12

Bloomington Speedway

There are just three events left for the Fastenal 410 sprint cars at Bloomington Speedway in 2016 and the battle between Jeff Bland Jr. and Brady Short continues to be one of the most closely contested track championship races in the state.

After picking up the win last weekend, Jeff Bland Jr. took the top position in points. He now leads by five points over the defending track champion Short while Jordan Kinser sits in third, 75 points behind the top spot.

The 305 RaceSaver sprint cars are also locked in a tight battle with Jared Fox holding a narrow eight point lead over second place Luke Bland.

Super stocks and modifieds will also be in action this Friday night.

Saturday, August 13

Tri-State Speedway (Cancelled)

Non-wing sprint cars will be back in action in Haubstadt on Saturday night for the first time since Indiana Sprint Week when TSS hosts the Midwest Sprint Car Series for the Hoosier Sprint Nationals.

Brady Short currently leads the MSCS standings by just 12 points over Brandon Morin as the series enters a double header weekend of action.

Carson Short won the most recent race in Haubstadt picking up his first ever USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car win during Indiana Sprint Week.

UMP modifieds and MMSA mini-sprints will join the sprint cars on Saturday evening.

Lincoln Park Speedway (Cancelled)

Sprints will be in action on Saturday evening in Putnamville where AJ Hopkins picked up his first Indiana sprint car win of the season last weekend.

Shane Cockrum continues to lead in the track championship standings by 53 points over Kevin Thomas Jr.

Saturday will be a regular show with modifieds, super stocks and bombers also on display.

Paragon Speedway (Cancelled)

Sprint cars return at Paragon Speedway on Saturday after taking last weekend off. Saturday will be the Johnson Memorial and will pay $1,400 to the winner.

As is the case at Bloomington, the battle for the track championship in Paragon is a closely contested battle with three drivers in the mix. Josh Cunningham currently leads by just one point over Andrew Prather with three races remaining. Defending track champion Jake Scott, who has five wins this season, sits 28 points behind.

Saturday night is half price night for all card holding HARF members.

Anderson Speedway (Cancelled)

The Must See Racing Sprint Series will make its final trip into Indiana on Saturday night when they take on Anderson Speedway.

Jimmy McCune has a large lead in the series standings entering Saturday nights action.

Thunder roadsters, legends and figure 8's will also be in action alongside the sprint cars.

Sunday, August 14

Terre Haute Action Track (Cancelled)

To finish out the weekend the Midwest Sprint Car Series (MSCS) will travel to the always fast Terre Haute Action Track on Sunday evening.

Sunday's "Spring Fling" event is a make-up event from May that was postponed due to rain. The winner will take home $3,000 while UMP modifieds will also be on display to complement the MSCS sprint cars.

Chase Stockon won the most recent sprint car race at the famed track during Indiana Sprint Week.
