Indiana Sprint Week: Terre Haute Preview (7/12)

Wednesday, July 12 / Terre Haute Action Track

After a day off to rest and make repairs Indiana Sprint Week resumes in Terre Haute on the famed 1/2 mile tonight, the largest track drivers will encounter during the seven race series.

Mother Nature has not been kind to the Action Track in 2017. The Tony Hulman Classic during the USAC "Week of Indy" was rained out and rescheduled but was once again rained out on June 23. Fans will hope for better weather next Wednesday for the Don Smith Classic.

In 2016 the Indiana Sprint Week event also had to be postponed because of rain. The Wednesday event was moved to Sunday and it was Indiana's own Chase Stockon taking home the victory.

Stockon was followed by Robert Ballou, Tyler Courtney and 2016 Indiana Sprint Week champion Brady Bacon. Aaron Farney rounded out the top five. Farney picked up his first USAC AMSOIL sprint car win at Terre Haute in 2015.

UMP modifieds are also slated to be in action on Wednesday.
