Weekend Preview: June 2-4

Friday, June 2

Bloomington Speedway

After numerous rain outs early in the season, cars were finally back on track last Friday night at Bloomington for the Josh Burton Memorial in which Cullman, Alabama's Kevin Thomas Jr. picked up the victory.

Fans will look for more of the same this weekend as sprints are once again in action along with the return of the 305 RaceSaver class as well after they traveled to Twin Cities Raceway Park last weekend.

The ILMS late models will also be on display on Friday evening.

Saturday, June 3

Lincoln Park Speedway

Sprints are in action yet again on Saturday night in Putnamville as the track hosts one of its Little Feet Bike Challenges. Kids (ages 5-13) are encouraged to bring their bikes to race around the track with the winners of three different age groups winning a new bike.

Last weekend it was AJ Hopkins picking up the win at LPS on the heals of a strong second place finish in the Josh Burton Memorial at Bloomington Speedway the night prior.

Super stocks, modifieds and bombers will be joining the non-wing sprint cars.

Paragon Speedway

After taking the holiday weekend off, Paragon Speedway will be back in action Saturday night.

Travis Welpott picked up the victory in the only race in Paragon so far in 2017.

This Saturday night along with the sprint cars the track will host a $2500 to win hornet feature as well as well as super stocks, pure stocks and bombers.

South Bend Motor Speedway

For our pavement fans, the Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints kick off their 2017 season on Friday night at Kalamazoo Speedway and then venture into Indiana for their first of multiple visits on Saturday when they visit the historic South Bend Motor Speedway.

Aaron Pierce enters the season as the defending champion in the series after holding off Jason Blonde in 2016.

Also in action on Saturday night in South Bend, outlaw late models, FWDs, FWD hornets and street stocks.

Sunday, June 4

Kokomo Speedway

Dave Darland has had somewhat of a rough start to his 2017 campaign but the all time wins leader at Kokomo Speedway got back on track Monday night when he picked up the victory in Bryan Clauson's Indiana Double.

This Sunday, the speedway will be back in action once again with Kids Night.

Justin Grant leads the current track points standings by 74 over last year's track champion, Kevin Thomas Jr. while Chris Windom sits third in the standings, 81 points back.

Modifieds and hornets will also be in action on Sunday evening at Indiana's Baddest Bullring.
