Weekend Preview: May 5-7

Friday, May 5

Bloomington Speedway Rained Out

Mother Nature has not been kind to Bloomington Speedway thus far in 2017 with three of the four scheduled events being rained out.

The track will try to get back in the groove this weekend when both the 410 non-wing sprint cars as well as the 305 RaceSaver sprint cars are scheduled to be in action on the red clay accompanied by super stocks.

Saturday, May 6

Montpelier Motor Speedway Rained Out

The issues with Mother Nature that have plagued Bloomington Speedway this year have plagued Montpelier Motor Speedway as well with the track having to cancel or postpone multiple events during a wet April.

However, this weekend track officials are hoping to get back in action when it hosts the Midwest Sprint Car Series. Entering the weekend, Jarett Andretti holds a two point advantage over defending series champion Brady Short and Carson Short while Max McGhee and Dakota Jackson sit fourth and fifth in the standings after two events.

UMP modifieds, super streets and thunder cars will also be in action on Saturday night in Montpelier.

Lincoln Park Speedway Rained Out

Lincoln Park Speedway hosts one of their Little Feet Bike Challenges this weekend when they look to get back into racing form after falling victim to the rain last weekend.

Children 5 through 13 are invited to bring their bikes and race around LPS for a chance to win a brand new bike.

As always, the non-wing sprint cars will be in action on Saturday along with modifieds, bombers and super stocks.

Lawrenceburg Speedway Rained Out

The high banks of "The Burg" will host the King of the Midwest sprint car event this Saturday after the same event rained out last weekend with the winner collecting $2500.

The evening also serves as College Night at Lawrenceburg Speedway. College students that provide proper identification will be admitted for free.

Modifieds, hornets and pure stocks will join the Kelsey Chevrolet sprint cars.

Sunday, May 7

Kokomo Speedway

Rounding out the weekend, Kokomo Speedway will be hosting their King of Kokomo event after they too were rained out last weekend.

Open wheel fans will get a chance to double up on action Sunday evening as the track will also be hosting midgets along with the Kokomo hornets.
